Being an intern can be a daunting experience but my time at Hex so far has been the exception to the rule. Even after only six weeks, I can already say that this has been one of the most rewarding experiences I have had during my time as a student. Never had I imagined that I could feel so at home within the business this quickly. Working in the Hex office is an absolute dream and not just because of the unlimited supply of snacks and Dash water!
Working for a digital product studio with such a broad scope of offerings is an invaluable experience. I have been given the opportunity to gain insights across a broad variety of sectors such as UI and UX design, Product Management, CRM and Growth. Right now Hex is undergoing a huge change in their client offerings and having the chance to be involved with HexStart has been very exciting. Recently I completed a competitor analysis for a new Hex Start client and being given the opportunity to work on something autonomously has massively boosted my confidence in my own abilities. Seeing and learning firsthand how concepts I have only heard about in University can be applied within the workplace has been priceless for me. As well as that, gaining experience in marketing activities such as YouTube optimisation, Google Ads and analysing data has been incredibly rewarding.
I was over the moon to recently have been appointed as a social media manager for the Hex socials. I'm incredibly excited about the new direction we are taking and can’t wait to see our ideas come to life. From the beginning everyone has been so welcoming and have gone above and beyond to make me feel like a valued member of the Hex team. There is never a shortage of good vibes from the Hexagons - regardless of whether it’s at our Monday morning meetings, client workshops or just out for after work drinks. It is truly a pleasure to be an intern at Hex and I am confident that my experiences here will prove to be a valuable foundation as I build towards my future career in marketing.
